Kelly McKain is the creator of several popular girls' fiction series, including Totally Lucy, Fairy House and Mermaid Rock.
Kelly says:
‘After university, I worked as a copywriter in an advertising agency and then a pre-prep teacher at the wonderful Merlin School. Whilst there, I developed a passion for children’s books – and started writing my own! After completing a creative MA and practising a lot, I was thrilled when my first books hit the shelves in 2003. I love being a fulltime author – the writing itself is such fun, the school visits are great, and it’s a licence to be nosy! I also enjoy dancing, horse riding, yoga and playing the piano (though not all at once!). Oh, and I also like things that are purple.’ QUENTIN QUIRK’S MAGIC WORKS
