Liss Norton has worked as a primary school teacher, a drama teacher, a crossword compiler, a writer-in-residence and a stage school principal. She regularly turns up in schools during book weeks and, to her astonishment, is frequently invited back! She is passionate about words, kids, Doc Marten boots (15 pairs in wild designs) and organic gardening. She also loves the theatre.
Liss had early writing success with short stories for adults, winning umpteen competitions while she was serving her writing apprenticeship. Once she had kids of her own, she realized that she could combine two of her passions – words and kids – by writing for children. The result is sixteen published books in a variety of languages, one of them televised in Australia. Liss also writes children’s plays and musicals which have been performed by schools and youth groups.
Liss lives in Steyning, West Sussex, and spends as much time as she can growing organic fruit and veg on her allotment. She dreams of having a bigger garden so she can pick runner beans from right outside the back door…
