Seth Garner is a creative director in the advertising industry. To escape from the pressures of working in London, he lives in a 400- year-old thatched cottage in Cambridgeshire with his Japanese wife and two young children. He writes his books sandwiched in between fellow commuters going to and from King's Cross.
During the 1990s, Seth lived in Hong Kong for five and a half years. Armed only with a taste for adventure and enough money to last 30 days, he arrived in HK aged 20 after buying a one-way ticket from his local travel agent.
A chance meeting led to him working for two years at one of Hong Kong's oldest trading companies. This involved frequent trips around Asia, including six months in Bangladesh.
Later, Seth took a career change and became a copywriter at one of the world's most awarded - and controversial - ad agencies, The Ball Partnership.
Seth is a keen traveller and has visited over 40 countries. He also partakes in hobbies such as painting demented watercolours and drinking too much tea. He writes about 'ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances'.
Seth is currently working on his third book. His first two - both thrillers - were published by Hale last year.
