Accent Press was founded in 2003 by Hazel Cushion. After completing an MA in Creative Writing, she noticed a gap in the market for quality short stories and created the best-selling SEXY SHORTS range of charity books.
Media coverage and a hat-trick of awards has helped Accent Press develop a high profile over the last three years. They now publish twenty-four titles a year, both fiction and non-fiction, across a wide-range of commercial genres, including women’s fiction, romance, crime, cookery and self-help. They publish a strong list of prize-winning and best-selling authors including Lynne Barrett-Lee, Grace Wynne-Jones, Marion Husband, Peter Kerr, Katherine John, Tanni Grey Thompson and Niall Griffiths.
2007 will see further expansion, and the launch of their new erotic imprint, Xcite Books.
Hazel Cushion has been awarded the Pandora, Women in Publishing prize and the Entrepreneur of the Year award.
